Here’s a great solo transcription of NYC tenor saxophone player Rich Perry soloing over East of the Sun that was shared with me by Sean Imboden. This is from his CD “East of the Sun and West of 2nd Avenue”.
I was searching the internet last week to see if there were any new Rich Perry transcriptions out there in cyberspace (Rich Perry is one of my favorite tenor players to listen to-check out Rich Perry playing on a Blues for the reasons why…..) and found a Youtube video of Sean Imboden playing along with Rich Perry’s recording of East of the Sun. He sounded great and the solo is such a classic Rich Perry solo that I reached out to Sean to see if he would share it with me and if I could post it on the website for all of you. Thankfully, he said no problem, so here it is……….
