Tune of the Week-Jordu

Description

In this lesson on the tune Jordu by Duke Jordan, I show you how I go about improvising on a tune like this.  The bridge of this tune can be hard to navigate and play over smoothly because the chords change every 2 beats.  I have included a 2 page PDF showing you some simple patterns and melodic devices to connect the chords.  I also give you some steps on how to best practice this bridge so that you can feel confident when you improvise over it.  I demonstrate the PDF to you on the tenor saxophone.  I have also included the PDF in Bb,Eb and concert key.  (31 Minute Video Lesson)
