Tune of the Week-Doxy

Description

This is another “Tune of the Week” lesson for you.  This lesson is on the tune “Doxy” by Sonny Rollis.

I play through the melody on the tenor saxophone with a play along that is provided with the lesson.  I then talk about different ways to approach improvising on this great standard.  Topics include, using the blues scale, running the chords, connecting your lines through the chords, creating simple melodies and using the bebop scales.
