Tune of the Week-On Green Dolphin Street

In this “Tune of the Week” lesson, I tackle the standard “on Green Dolphin Street”.

This is a great standard that I have been playing for years.  I play the melody for you on the tenor saxophone with a play along I created for this lesson.(It is an organ trio which I thought was pretty cool……) I take you through the tune piece by piece and talk about the different devices and concepts I use over each chord.  I stop after each section to demonstrate a few of the concepts multiple times so that you can hear how they are applied.  Just for fun, I also include a video I made playing Green Dolphin Street on soprano saxophone…….(31 Minute Video Lesson, 7 Minute Video on soprano Sax PDF of the chord changes for concert,Bb and Eb instruments, 1 play along of organ trio)
