Intervallic Patterns for Triads Lesson

In this lesson I introduce you to the next step after learning your major triads.  Many times I’ll play along with students trading fours on a solo just using triads while improvising.  They will ask me why my lines sound so much better and more interesting.  Many times it is because of the concept I am introducing in this lesson which is to break the triads up into greater intervals.  By doing this you can create more interesting lines that aren’t as predictable and stale sounding. By skipping over notes in your patterns you will play wider intervals of 5ths and 6ths which can really open up your melodic lines if used in the right way.  Enjoy!   (Video)
