Beginner Tenor Sax-Lesson 13

This is the 13th lesson in a series on learning how to play the tenor saxophone from the very beginning. This series of lessons will be focused on learning the fundamentals of playing the saxophone and developing good habits. This series will be primarily out of the Essential Elements 2000 Book 1 for tenor saxophone so you will need that book to work out of. These are great lessons for the beginner who wants to learn the correct way to play the sax and get the most out of it.

In this lesson I teach you about playing with a big sound, play a duet with you, playing dotted quarter notes on the offbeats, clapping rhythms, more on using the alternate Bb fingerings, smooth finger movement, blowing hot air down low, and an introduction to intervals.  I also remind you of the importance of challenging yourself when you practice, having proper hand placement and technique.  I take you through page 22-25 in the Essential Elements book.
