Beginner Alto Sax-Lesson 11

This is the 11th lesson in a series on learning how to play the saxophone from the very beginning. This series of lessons will be focused on learning the fundamentals of playing the saxophone and developing good habits. This series will be primarily out of the Essential Elements 2000 Book 1 for alto saxophone so you will need that book to work out of.  I take you through page 20-21 in the Essential Elements book and talk about the things to be aware of when practicing these pages. I talk about the use of phrases in music, an introduction to the “D” key signature, how to count multiple measure rests, the new note of Bb, as well as two duets that we can play together. I talk about the importance of slowing down and pinpointing the areas that you need to work on the most.  (Video)
