Scrapple from the Apple-Improvisation Lesson

In this lesson, I take an in-depth look on how to improvise over the classic Charlie Parker tune Scrapple from the Apple.

I take you through the steps that I use with students on how to improvise on this tune as well as the jazz concepts I use while improvising. The concepts include key center improvisation, approach note lines, bebop scale, diminished scales and simple melodic ideas. All of these elements are demonstrated on the alto saxophone.
