Saxophone and Jazz Improvisation Lessons

Welcome to NeffMusic! Where you can learn everything you wanted to know about the saxophone and jazz improvisation. Over the past year, this site has grown into one of the top resources of online video lessons for jazz musicians and saxophone players of all levels. In the beginning, this site was just a place for me to post clips of mouthpieces for my fellow saxophone players. Soon students were emailing and asking if I could record lessons for them.  As I recorded lessons and gained saxophone students around the world, I came up with the online lesson concept for NeffMusic.com. I would record audio or video lessons on a variety of subjects and post them on my site for all the members to take advantage of. As the idea blossomed and I recorded more and more sax and jazz improvisation lessons (including many video lessons now) the popularity of the site increased. Hundreds of people from around the world are now members and check in regularly to get new lessons for their own enjoyment and development. Here are some one minute samples of some the lessons that are available in my store above:

There are many lessons on jazz improvisation that can be applied to all instruments as well as many saxophone lessons on a variety of subjects. These video lessons are suitable for the beginner, intermediate or advanced students of jazz improvisation. Whatever level you are at, you can find something here to meet your needs. Online Lessons can be purchased one by one in the NeffMusic Store or if you choose, you can become a NeffMusic Member and get four lessons a month at a savings of up to 50%! You can browse the NeffMusic Store to see all the lessons available and view a free 1 minute sample of each lesson to see what they are like. If you look up to the top of this page you will see a tab you can click on called "Lesson Samples" to give you a small taste of what the online lessons are like. Whether you play the sax or just want to learn about jazz improvisation, I am sure that you will love the coming to NeffMusic.com for your jazz education.

As well as providing saxophone lessons I have also written four books on jazz improvisation to date. These books are for all treble clef instruments. They are Mastering the Dominant Bebop Scale, The Best II-V-I Patterns, The Ultimate II-V-I Primer and Approach Note Velocity. These books are written in treble clef and within the range of the saxophone but can be applied to all instruments.

Here are some of the great reviews for them. They can also be purchased in the NeffMusic Book Store as downloadable pdf files or as printed books.
Although I am a saxophone teacher, many of my video lessons can be applied to other instruments. I have many students who play other instruments and love the new approach and concept I bring them because of my saxophone style.
I hope you enjoy your time here. Feel free to browse and see if NeffMusic might be a good place for you to continue your jazz education!
Thanks, Steve Neff
