{"id":655,"date":"2009-08-14T20:57:23","date_gmt":"2009-08-15T01:57:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.neffmusic.com\/blog\/?p=655"},"modified":"2014-01-16T22:41:41","modified_gmt":"2014-01-17T03:41:41","slug":"phil-tone-otto-link-tenor-mouthpiece","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.neffmusic.com\/blog\/2009\/08\/phil-tone-otto-link-tenor-mouthpiece\/","title":{"rendered":"Phil-Tone Otto Link Tenor Mouthpiece"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span>I received this from Phil as part of a trial that he is doing to promote his mouthpieces. \u00a0This is a modern hard rubber Otto Link that Phil Engleman has refaced and made much improved. \u00a0 The mouthpiece plays great compared to other modern Otto Links that I have played. \u00a0Many of the modern ones I have played have sounded tubby or dead. \u00a0This mouthpiece has a nice dark sound to it that is very even through out the range of the saxophone. \u00a0It doesn&#8217;t have the volume that I normally like in a piece but I think that might be because I&#8217;m use to blowing a .110 tip and this is .105. \u00a0Phil does great work and I would feel great recommending these pieces to my students who need a hard rubber link that plays well. \u00a0For this recording I&#8217;m playing a blues solo I wrote for a lesson I did on the &#8220;Triad Pair Blues&#8221;<\/span> .
