Here is another great transcription of two local tenor saxophone players up here in the Northeast that many of you outside the area might not know about. Mike Tucker and Tucker Antell.\u00a0 Since I posted the start of the Eternal Triangle solo <\/a>by these two yesterday, I have received many comments in response.\u00a0 “Meet the Tuckers….”\u00a0 “Mother Tucker that is smokin’!”\u00a0 I’m sure there will be more after this solo is posted.\u00a0 \u00a0 Hahaha!<\/p>\n

I first heard of Mike Tucker years ago when I came upon a recording of Mike playing a gig with George Garzone.\u00a0 It had a “Live at the Lighthouse Steve Grossman and Dave Liebman sound” to the recording with Mike Tucker on the tenor sax and George Garzone on the soprano sax. Mike Tucker sounded amazing and I have been a fan ever since!\u00a0 Here is Mike Tucker’s website\u00a0<\/a>if you want to find out more information on him. He has been touring with Arturo Sandoval over the last few months.<\/p>\n

Tucker Antell I have heard about more recently.\u00a0 He’s a phenomenal player with incredible technique and endless ideas and energy.\u00a0 I bought his CD “Grime Scene” last year and it is a great album<\/a>.\u00a0 Here is Tucker Antell’s website<\/a> if you want to find out more about him.\u00a0 When I saw videos of these two great players doing a gig together, I had to check them out ASAP!<\/p>\n

Yesterday I published the first 4 choruses of their solos over Eternal Triangle <\/a>and no sooner had I finished that post when I came across this Youtube video from the same gig.\u00a0 This is Mike Tucker and Tucker Antell destroying “Blues Up and Down”.\u00a0 This is just insane!\u00a0 I had to start this transcription this morning!<\/p>\n

Like the Eternal Triangle solo, I am going to release this solo in rounds also because it is so long.\u00a0 I’ll try to finish some of the solo every day and hopefully get to the end of this solo at some point in the near future. (This is the first 6 choruses of the 45 choruses played on this video…………)<\/p>\n
