When I first played it i used size 2 1/2 reeds and it was a bit harsh sounding when i blew hard. I moved to size 3 Java’s and that did the trick for me. It took some of that brightness away and gave the tone a nice thick core to it. I enjoyed playing this one although I’m curious as to how it played originally. I wish i could play this piece for longer to see what it really can do. This was a joy to play on! Ken Barry makes some great pieces.
