This secondary baffle has a rounded edge on it that drops into the chamber.\u00a0 This is the brightest of the Wanne alto mouthpieces I have tried.\u00a0 I think it&#8217;s also the prettiest.\u00a0 I just love looking at this piece. It is gold but has silver on the band, biteplate and ligature.\u00a0 It looks amazing.\u00a0 If you click on the pictures below they will expand so you can see more detail.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/public.neffmusic.com\/TWGoldDurgaTop.jpg\" rel=\"shadowbox\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0pt none; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px;\" src=\"\/images\/stories\/easygallery\/88888894\/TWGoldDurgaTop.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"280\" border=\"0\" hspace=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/public.neffmusic.com\/TWGoldDurgaBaffle.jpg\" rel=\"shadowbox\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0px initial initial;\" src=\"\/images\/stories\/easygallery\/88888894\/TWGoldDurgaBaffle.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"280\" border=\"0\" hspace=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Theo Wanne Gold Durga Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Appearance:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I don&#8217;t think a better looking mouthpiece has ever been made.\u00a0 This is the most beautiful mouthpiece to just sit and look at.\u00a0 Very shiny and the combination of the gold and silver is dazzling.\u00a0 The rails and tip are thin, even and perfect.\u00a0 Everything about the mouthpiece looks perfect including the leather pouch and box that it comes in.\u00a0 I would have loved to own this mouthpiece back when I went through my Sanborn phase&#8230;&#8230;..<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Tone:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Bright and loud.\u00a0 Is it too bright?\u00a0 That&#8217;s a matter of taste.\u00a0 There is certainly a place for this type of sound for modern alto players.\u00a0 It reminds me of a Dave Sanborn\/Dave Koz type of sound.\u00a0 Remember, that this recording is totally dry.\u00a0 In the recording studio a little bit of reverb would be added to sweeten up the sound.\u00a0 This type of sound is great in the studio with some reverb on it!\u00a0 Again,\u00a0 if I had found this mouthpiece when I was 15 and going through my Dave Sanborn stage I might never have discovered Charlie Parker&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;(if you don&#8217;t know who Sanborn is do a youtube search)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Intonation:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">No problems at all with intonation.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Control:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">For a high baffle mouthpiece this was easy to control.\u00a0 Many times when I play a high baffle piece I feel like the brightness takes away from the smoothness of a fatter darker tone.\u00a0 I didn&#8217;t feel this with this mouthpiece.\u00a0 If I played it longer, I think I would have adjusted my aural cavity naturally to\u00a0 fatten up the sound just a bit.\u00a0 That usually happens when I play on high baffle mouthpieces. The altissimo range was super easy with this mouthpiece also.\u00a0 I had fun messing around with those overblown altissmo notes that give you that tough raw sound.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Volume:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Through the roof.\u00a0 I had to back up a couple of feet and even then I clipped the levels a couple of times in the recording.\u00a0 This is one loud mouthpiece&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>This is another great mouthpiece by Theo Wanne.
