PLAYING "OUTSIDE"
This area is for those of you who want lessons dealing with "playing outside". I first heard this term while I was in college. It refers to when a player takes his solo outside of the standard chord changes and sound. Many times it sounds a bit dissonant and even wrong. The art of this type of playing is being able to weave in an out of the changes creating dissonance and consonance as you improvise.
