This is a beginner jazz improvisation series for alto sax. In this series of lessons I will take you from the very beginning and teach you how to improvise. In this lesson, I teach you the importance of melody. What I mean by that, is playing lines and solos that are melodic and pleasing to the ear. This is the most important thing to learn as an improviser. Many novice improvisers have a hard time bridging the gap between learning scales and chords and then creating melodies with those building blocks. In this lesson, I show you how to do just that. It is a life long process but my goal is to get you started early so that you can become a great improviser over time. An improviser that can create great and memorable solos that the audience will love. (34 Minute Video Lesson)
