In this lesson I teach you how I approach the tune "Round Midnight" by Thelonius Monk.  I take you through each chord of the popular standard and talk about how I approach improvising on them.  I give you some tips on things I've learned over the years and also some roadblocks that I encountered early on with this tune.  I demonstrate the melody and solo using my tenor sax to a background track. Thanks Steve!

The thing I liked the most in this lesson was the frustration you talk about, when trying to improvise following each of the chord changes. You know what?......it´s exactly how I feel every time I try to improvise over a tune. knowing a master like you have gone through the same frustration in the past, makes me feel I´m not alone and someway, I feel I´m in the right direction. The way you approach the chord changes to make it easy is just what I needed. Now I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!
